We have the latest models of both PC's and Macs and all the peripheral devices necessary for the heaviest graphics tasks to be done efficiently. Designer's hardware must be powerful enough to work in real time with image files that have hundreds of megabytes. That's why even the top Macintosh models aren't enough as they are right out-of-the-box, and we expand them much further.

quality

Raw speed is not the only parameter that the hardware must meet. We pay much attention to such frequently underestimated things as quality of monitors and monitor calibration devices. We use 22" monitors and attach two monitors to each of our main machines to have enough space and freedom for work.

For most of the scanning, we use a high-end flatbed scanner, but, if the job requires a top quality scanning from slides, we will never do it on a desktop scanner and will take a care to have it scanned on a drum scanner.

intuitive input

Our favorite manual input devices are graphic digitizers (tablets) that allow the design process to become really intuitive and do image editing, drawing and retouching with a pressure-sensitive pen rather than a mouse. We both have skills in drawing and painting on traditional media, and the graphic digitizers allow us to use those skills in digital image processing.

connectivity and data media

We have a fast 2 megabit/sec permanent connection to the Internet and Web servers both in United States and Latvia. This ensures that communication and file transfer can be done easily.

In most cases, we transfer the files to our clients or directly to the printer via ftp (Internet), but we can also provide them on CD and DVD disks.

S O F T W A R E

It would be too long to list all the graphics and other software needed to produce complex print and Web projects. It includes most of the popular professional programs for image editing, vector graphics, 3D graphics, print layouts, Web, animation, font generation, etc. We also use tools for testing, enhancing quality and automating common tasks.

However, we never convert the design work to an automated process that sacrifices quality for speed. Most of the work, like image editing, retouching, text editing, etc. we do manually. Although it requires lot of time, it is the only way to get the best results in every detail.

file formats

If you need not only the printed result or website, but want to have all the original files in format that you would be able to open and edit on your own computer, we will provide them in the format that will be best for your needs.
